Varietal 100% Zinfandel
Winemaker's Notes We had such a wonderful response to our 2003 Zinfandel that we thought we’d continue making it. And this year is our first production of wine from the famed Zin country, Dry Creek Valley. True to the legend, these grapes are just wonderful.

We’re also very excited about bringing Pauline’s Vineyard into our family of vineyards. It isn’t a completely new association though, since Pauline’s Vineyard is named in honor of the Matriarch of the Peters Family, with whom we’ve had a long standing relationship. The vineyard is located right across the street from our new winery location, so we’re able to keep a pretty close eye on those grapes!

The 2004 growing season was quite unusual. It was very warm early in the season which resulted in the grapes ripening very early. The sugars were high, so the fermentation process was quite a challenge. We held round the clock watches while the grapes were fermenting—they needed checking every hour. The harvest was the most difficult I have every personally participated in. As you can well imagine, we’re very thrilled with the outcome after such a tough harvest. We hope you enjoy the fruits of our labor!

Tasting Notes Deep garnet in color leading to an aromatic nose of luscious berry, plum and delicate oak. On the palate it presents ripe fruit up front and further pleases with elegance and nicely integrated tannins. The refined spicy finish lingers pleasantly, beckoning you to take your next sip.
